Are there any hidden charges or any other costs that will be charged subsequently?

No, Kings Watercoolers rental price includes installation, rental, servicing, sanitisation, filter changes and any call outs. All prices are subject to VAT.

How long would a typical installation take and would it mean drilling through walls?

A typical installation would take less than 45 minutes provided the mains water and electric were relatively close to the proposed cooler site. Occasionally we need to drill a very small hole in walls in order to pass a small pipe, about 6mm in diameter, from perhaps a kitchen area to the proposed position.

How long are contract periods?

We don’t require long contracts. The minimum contract term is just 12 months. After this initial period we simply require 3 months-notice to cancel

If we have an issue with our water cooler or hot water dispenser, how long would it take to replace or repair?

We guarantee that we will visit your premises within two working days of your call. Normally we can repair almost any problem there and then but very rarely we might need to replace a machine.

What temperature is the hot water from a hot and cold water cooler?

The normal water temperature from a water cooler’s hot tap is between 85 and 90 degrees centigrade. This is fine for making coffee or soups, but is probably just a little too cold to make a good cup of tea. For perfect hot drinks, we always recommend our Hot Water Dispensers, which provide a plentiful supply of boiling, filtered water at the touch of a button!

How does the hot water capacity of a hot and cold water cooler compare with a hot water dispenser?

There is a big difference between the hot water capacity of a Hot and Cold Water Cooler and a hot water dispenser, and this is largely due to the difference in tank design.

Hot water dispensers only add small amounts of mains water, at regular intervals, to the hot water tank. This keeps the temperature in the tank stable and allows for a plentiful supply of boiling, filtered water on demand.

On the other hand, the hot water tanks in hot and cold water coolers are filled right to the top each time water is drawn. The temperature can therefore vary greatly! In practice this means that the temperature is reasonably stable for an instant draw off of 4 to 6 hot drinks – any more than that and the temperature will drop. Hot and cold water coolers are really only suitable for a few hot drinks at a time and require sufficient recovery time before the next use.

There can be a temptation to place a hot and cold water cooler in an area where demand for hot water outstrips its ability to deliver. For locations where more than a few hot drinks may be required at any one time, we would most definitely recommend one of our counter top, wall mounted or under sink hot water dispensers.
